Paul Evans Sculpted Bronze Wall Unit 1967 (Signed And Dated) - SOLD

Wall unit with 3 pilasters in sculpted bronze resin with smoked glass shelves by Paul Evans, American 1967 (signed "PE 67"). This piece was created from a mixture of epoxy resin and sand applied to a plywood base and sculpted into various swirls, drips and other patterns. Once hardened, the piece was sandblasted, sprayed with an atomized bronze finish, varnished, blown with a torch to provide a smoky look, polished, and then varnished again. The resulting work has a metallic sheen but is lightweight compared with something made of cast bronze. A rare and iconic Paul Evans design.

Rare and important wall mounted mirror in bronze resin with enameled steel elements by Paul Evans Studio for Directional Furniture, American 1969 (signed and dated “PE 69” on the side). We have the matching wall mounted cabinet available for purchase. This series is rare and this mirror is extremely rare. This piece was created from a mixture of epoxy resin and sand applied to a plywood base and sculpted into various swirls, drips and other patterns. Once hardened, the piece was sandblasted, sprayed with an atomized bronze finish, varnished, blown with a torch to provide a smoky look, polished, and then varnished again. The resulting work has a metallic sheen but is lightweight compared with something made of cast bronze. This is a work of art by one of the most important 20th century designers. Anzolo Fuga Rare Hand Blown Glass Vase with Corroso Finish 1958-60 - SOLD

Rare and unique hand-blown glass vase with multicolor murrhines and rods with corroso finish by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese or A.V.E.M.. Murano Italy 1958-60. This is one of the only vases of its kind to feature the corroso finish.
This vase is large and extremely complex and difficult to execute. It is stunning.

Anzolo Fuga Murano Glass Artist, Designs for A.V.E.M. by Rosa Barovier Mentasti and published by Acanthus Press is 2005, section titled “Multicolor Rods and Murrine”, on page 61 there is a photo of the same model with the same murrhines and rods without a corroso finish.
