Pair of artisan “Mandarin Table Lamps”, ceramic double gourd forms with deep blue mirror glaze, with polished brass bases and hardware by Karl Springer American 1980's. These lamps are exquisite. Brass has been polished and lacquered. Newly rewired with silk cords with line switches. Height is adjustable.

Philip & Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important Torso Table Lamps 1970s (signed)

Rare and important “Male and Female Torso” table lamps in Hydro Stone plaster on patinated bronze bases by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970’s (signed "PK LaVerne" on both bases).  These table lamps have been finished with a patina that makes them look like excavated sculptures and are very impressive.  As many of the LaVerne's pieces reference historical civilizations, these reference ancient Greek and Roman sculptures.  New custom shades provided by Lobel Modern. These have been newly rewired with new bronze sockets and silk cord. There is a switch on the back of each lamp which turns both sockets on and off at the same time.

Reference:
ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, these lamps are shown on pages 231 in the section titled Other Materials. The caption reads, “MALE AND FEMALE TORSO table lamps in Hydro-Stone plaster that have been patinated by hand to resemble ancient sculptures with patinated bronze bases were created in the 1970s. These lamps are an homage to classical Greco-Roman torso sculptures.”

Pair of elegant floor lamps in brass with glass rods, each with 2 bulbs, by Hansen Lighting, American 1960's (Signed on bases “Hansen Lamps Inc. N.Y.”) The cords are embedded in the glass so when the cords are faced to the side of the lamp they disappear due to the curvature of the glass. A clever design. Brass has been polished and lacquered. Besides pull chains, each lamp has a foot switch.

"Greek Column Table Lamp" in solid lucite with brass hardware by Karl Springer, American 1980's. The cord is embedded into the side of the lamp, so it is invisible when looking from the front. Lucite has been cleaned and polished. Brass has been newly polished and lacquered. Lamp has been rewired. Springer was inspired by Classicism and this refined lamp would go in any interior.

Jules Leleu Set of Three Double Sconces with Faceted Glass Crystals Ca 1948 (Signed)

Set of three sconces model no. 3626 in bronze with faceted glass crystals by Leleu, France c.1948 (stamped “LELEU PARIS” on back). These sconces have been restored and newly rewired and take standard candelabra bulbs. These iconic sconces are the epidemy of refined. Bronze back plates added by Lobel Modern so they fit over a standard American electrical box. They can be easily removed.

The House of Leleu, Classic French Style For a Modern World 1920-1973 under the direction of Francoise Siriex and published by Hudson Hills Press, this model sconce is shown on the inside title page and also inside with the description below, “Double Sconce no. 3626 in gilt bronze with Bohemian crystal shades, 1948”.
