Syd Solomon was a noted Abstract Expressionist painter. Beginning in the mid-50's he joined many of the New York School elite, including DeKooning, Alfonso Asssorio, Philip Guston, Conrad Marca-Reilli, Jackson Pollock and others, on Long Island's East End, making the Hamptons a center of Abstract Expressionism. His work is thin the collections of the Met, Guggenheim, Whitney, Smithsonian, Butler and other fine museums.

Gio Ponti Important Cabinet Produced by Fontana Arte ca 1939 - SOLD

Unique and important cabinet in limed oak with reverse painted glass panels designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Fontana Arte, Italy ca 1939 (stamped "FX 1285" on back).  Has 2 pull out trays and interior is lined in linoleum.  Side cabinets are illuminated.  This cabinet is extraordinary and a fine example of both Gio Ponti's and Fontana Arte's superlative work.

Hand-blown glass vase with unique colorful murrhines by Vittorio Ferro for Fratelli Pagnin, Murano Italy, ca. 2000 (signed, "F. lli Pagnin by Vittorio Ferro")Vittorio Ferro has been a glass master since the 1950's when he worked for Fratelli Toso. His murrhines and rods are unique because he made them himself. He stopped blowing glass shortly after this series.
