Large “Oval Lucite Table Lamp” with bronze hardware, fittings and shade by Karl Springer, American 1970's. This is an iconic lamp design. The bronze shade is artisan crafted as is the lamp itself. The cord runs in a channel on the side of the lamp and is invisible from the front due to the optics of the curve.

Handblown glass vase composed of large bi-color murrhines and gold foil by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy ca 1956. The colors of the murrhines and the gold foil make this piece jewel-like.

Rare early "Onassis Chair " in larger scale covered in highly lacquered goatskin by Karl Springer, American 1970's. This Onassis Chair was designed to be a lounge or accent chair. The lacquered goatskin is incredible. Seat reupholstered in tobacco ultrasuede.

Paul Evans Rectangular Coffee Table in Sculptured Bronze 1970 (Signed) - SOLD

Rectangular coffee table, model PE 132 in sculpted bronze with glass top by Paul Evans for Directional Furniture, American 1970 (signed "PE 70"). This piece was created from a mixture of epoxy resin and sand applied to a plywood base and sculpted into various swirls, drips and other patterns. Once hardened, the piece was sandblasted, sprayed with an atomized bronze finish, varnished, blown with a torch to provide a smoky look, polished, and then varnished again. The resulting work has a metallic sheen but is lightweight compared with something made of cast bronze.

Rare and Important Barovier & Toso "Saturneo" Hand Blown Vase 1951 -SOLD

Rare and Important hand blown glass "Saturneo" vase with murrhines, white lattimo and gold leaf by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso, Murano Italy 1951. This was was also made in red. There is a single red murrhine inserted unintentionally which makes this vase rare and special.

Reference:

Tra Creativita e Progezzazione, Il Vetro Italiano a Milano 1906-1968 curated by Rosa Barovier Mentasti, Mariatheresa Chirico, Giovanni Mori, Anty Pansera, Claudio Salsi, published by Electa in 1998, on page 199 is the same vase with purple murrhines (103. Vaso serie “saturneo”, Barovier & Toso, disgeno Ercole Barovier, 1951)


Venetian Glass 1890-1990 by by Rosa Barovier Mentasti, page 100 shows a Saturneo vase (88 Ercole Barovier Saturneo vase with rods and murrhines Barovier & Toso 1951, Venice private collection).

Murano ‘900 by Franco Deboni, published by Boca Editori - Milano in 1996, page 126 shows a Saturneo vase (“Saturneo” vase in iridized glass with application of gold leaf decorated in lattimo rods alternated with insertions of purple spiral-like murrine. Designed by Ercole Barovier. Around 1951.)
