Lobel Modern, opened in 1998 by Evan Lobel, showcases furniture, lighting, hand-blown glass and art by important designers from the 1940's thru the 1980's. Located in the Four Points section of lower Manhattan.

Hand-blown red glass vase with gold foil from the Reazione Policrome Series, Balloton, by Giulio Radi for Arte Vetraria Muranese or A.V.E.M., Murano Italy, ca 1950. This vase is exquisite like a jewel.

Rare and important entry/hall/dining table in bronze with large amethyst in jewelry setting mounted in center by Jacques Duval-Brasseur, France 1970's (signed with artist’s signature on base). Jacques Duval-Brasseur was a noted French sculptor and designer who incorporated precious and exotic materials into his pieces. This table is spectacular.

Rare “Venus Contemplating” painting in engraved and patinated bronze with complex scene with enamel cloisonne by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960’s (signed “Philip.K LaVerne”). The LaVernes were often inspired by Greek mythology. The hand-brazed sculptured frame in patinated bronze adds another artistic dimension to the artwork. Original gallery label on back is from the Seymour Gallery where they artists showed their best artworks.
