Signed on door “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne”. The interior is lacquered and beautifully finished with curving bronze-edged shelves and felt lined drawer. This motif was inspired by music. Very few of these cabinets were made. This is a work of art. Shown with a rare and important Paul Evans mirror.

Rare and important mirror “Unexpected Consequences” in patinated bronze, frame with channeled continuous curled tubular element by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, 1970s (signed on frame “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). Originally Kelvin had designed this mirror differently, but the tubular element had bends and flat sections so Kelvin decides to let the metal dictate the shape. In the end, he noted that it came out better than he designed it. That’s why he called it “Unexpected Consequences.”
