The execution and coloration in this lamp are superb. The hardware has been professionally restored and newly rewired with silk cord.

Hand-crafted desk in brushed stainless steel with intricate brass pulls and accents with 3 drawers and embossed black leather top by P.E. Guerin, American c.1950 (signed “P.E.G.” on back of pull). It has been authenticated by the workshop. This desk comes with keys. The legs are beautifully fluted. The desk top has been completely restored and the leather newly embossed. P.E. Guerin is a foundry located in NYC making super finely crafted custom metal pieces using skills passed down from the founder which started the company in 1857. This desk is a rare superb jewel.

This desk has been completely redone in new embossed crocodile leather by Lobel Modern. The drawers are lined with black moire fabric. The craftsmanship and materials are absoluately superb. Pair of "Souffle Ottomans" with custom graphic fabric and bases in seamlessly welded solid polished gunmetal with recessed castors by Karl Springer, American 1980's. Rare and important “Male and Female Torso” table lamps in Hydro Stone plaster on patinated bronze bases by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970’s (signed "PK LaVerne" on both bases). These table lamps have been finished with a patina that makes them look like excavated sculptures and are very impressive. As many of the LaVerne's pieces reference historical civilizations, these reference ancient Greek and Roman sculptures. New custom shades provided by Lobel Modern. These have been newly rewired with new bronze sockets and silk cord. There is a switch on the back of each lamp which turns both sockets on and off at the same time.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, these lamps are shown on pages 231 in the section titled Other Materials. The caption reads, “MALE AND FEMALE TORSO table lamps in Hydro-Stone plaster that have been patinated by hand to resemble ancient sculptures with patinated bronze bases were created in the 1970s. These lamps are an homage to classical Greco-Roman torso sculptures.”
