Lobel Modern, opened in 1998 by Evan Lobel, showcases furniture, lighting, hand-blown glass and art by important designers from the 1940's thru the 1980's. Located in the Four Points section of lower Manhattan.

Pair of large hand-thrown ceramic table lamps, hand-painted and glazed in blue and green, on dark wood bases with bronze hardware, Italian 1950's. Newly rewired with bronze hardware and silk cords. Bases refinished. In like-new condition.

Large rare "Marmol Style Mirror" with frame covered in black leather with bronze inlays by Karl Springer, American 1980's (Karl Springer label on back). This mirror is beautifully made and grandly scaled. Springer highlighted the unique patterns between each hide with bronze inlays and no two mirrors are the same. This is a work of art.

Rare and exceptional "Goatskin Free Form Desk" in high gloss lacquered goatskin with drawer by Karl Springer, American 1988 (date stamped on bottom). Springer’s Free Form series is considered among his best. Very few of these were made. The craftsmanship is simply superb. A unique work of art.

One-of-a-kind Impressionist paining with seated female nude, hand-painted enamels on curved and patinated brazed bronze panel, by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on bottom right corner). This work is a tour de force of artisanship. The panel itself is seamlessly welded into a 3 dimensional surface on 2 different curves. The bronze is brazed, engraved and textured to give it depth and then hand-painted with enamels. This work is remarkable.
