"Chan 140" coffee table with Chinese scene in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-applied enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's. Signed “Philip & Kelvin LaVerne” on top bottom right. This table has a beautiful patina.

The caption from the LaVerne catalog reads, “Chinese artistry at its peak under the Chan Dynasty is recreated in this intricately carved design. We see peasants carrying a sacred gift to the Emperor’s child. Delicately wrought leaves and figures, combine with a rich variety of multicolored patinas to create the Chinoiserie top. The design is credited as inspiring and evoking French and English periods of furniture design.”
