Anzolo Fuga Rare and Large Hand-Blown Glass "Bandiere" Vase with Vibrant Colors 1955-58

Evan Lobel

Large and rare "Bandiere" vase, hand-blown with orange, yellow, blue, white, green and clear colors all around with hole in the center by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, 1955-58. Bandiere in Italian means flag. This refers to the way the glass rods laid out flat in a tray before this piece was blown. The scale and vibrancy of this vase give it an impactful visual presence. The execution is superb.

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased this piece directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of art glass pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 60’s.
