Set of 6 elegant dining chairs model no. 4632S in mahogany with cane backs and upholstered seats by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, American 1940's. These iconic Dunbar chairs are very comfortable. Newly refinished and newly reupholstered in textured chenille by Lobel Modern.

Reference:
The Dunbar Black and White Book published by the Dunbar Furniture Corporation in 1956, there is a photograph of this model chair on the bottom of page 61 with the title “4632S Side Chair”. Index in back reads, “ Cane back… mahogany frame.”

Edward Wormley for Dunbar Pair of Iconic Lounge Chairs in Laminated Ash 1954 - SOLD

Pair of masterfully crafted lounge chairs model 5480 in laminated ash with caned back and brass sabots by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, American 1954. These chairs are a tour de force of design. One of the first pieces made of laminated wood, this design stretched the mechanical capabilities of the master woodworkers making Wormley’s pieces. The tapering legs and brass sabot make them incredibly sexy.

Michael Coffey Rare Pair of Hand-Carved Stools in Walnut 2007 (Signed)

Rare pair of “Belle of the Ball Stools” in hand-carved and sculpted American black walnut blocks by Michael Coffey, American 2007 (each is signed "MCoffey" on underside of seat). Each stool is slightly different in design, making both a unique piece. Michael Coffey was a craftsman and an artist who sculpted superb shapes in wood. In the tradition of George Nakashima, Wendell Castle, and Jack Rogers Hopkins, Coffey's handmade, unique works combine the sculptural forms of nature with a deep appreciation for the intrinsic beauty of wood. The design of the seats and back raised edge makes them very comfortable.
