Anzola Fuga Rare "Bands" Vase With Internal Glass Filament 1960s

Rare hand-blown glass vase from the "Bands Series" with internal glass filament by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese or A.V.E.M., Murano Italy, 1960’s. The execution of this piece with the hair-thin glass filament is simply incredible. Only a few examples were made.

Reference:
Anzolo Fuga Murano Glass Artist, Designs for A.V.E.M. by Rosa Barovier Mentasti and published by Acanthus Press is 2005, section titled “Bands”, this model with red bands is shown on page 84 with the text, “Vase with bands, variation with internal filaments, 1956-60, H. 40.6 cm, New York, Martin Kline Collection.”

AVEM Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932-72 by Marc Heiremans and published by Arnoldsche 2020, on page 139 this model is shown with yellow bands with the text, “Around 1965 Fuga started using opaque and impure glass types as well as surface treatments. he also experimented with internal volumes by indenting opposing walls until these connected and formed internal bridges.”

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased this piece directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 60’s.

Superb 4 door cabinet model 147 in mirror finish white lacquer with brass studs and iconic knocker pulls on a dark mahogany base by Tommi Parzinger for Parzinger Originals, American 1950's (signed “Parzinger Originals” in drawer).

This piece has been re-lacquered in high-gloss white and the brass hardware and studs have been polished and lacquered.  This piece is absolutely stunning.

This console table sold at Wright Auction, Important Design (Day 2), May 20, 2008. In the auction it states that is was authenticated by the Gio Ponti Archives.

Provenance: Private Collection Boston. This owner purchased it from the dealer who purchased it from Wright.
