Impressive and large 4-door credenza in luxurious lacquered dark brown goatskin and bronze with floating bronze glass top by Saporiti, Italian 1980's. Interior is lacquered black. The side compartments hold shelves and a drawer and the middle compartment holds two shelves. The craftsmanship of this piece is superb. The floating glass top makes it perfect as a server.

Karl Springer Rare Custom Serving Cart in Stainless Steel and Lucite 1980s

Impressive and meticulously crafted large rolling 3-tier serving/bar cart in polished stainless steel with thick solid lucite slabs on each tier by Karl Springer, American 1980's. The metalwork and the perfectly clear lucite are both superb. This was typically made with 2 tiers; this is a unique variation.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important "Tao Cabinet" 1970s (Signed) - SOLD

Rare and important large 4 door "Tao Cabinet" in patinated bronze and pewter with continuous engraved Chinese scene, hand-painted with vibrant enamels in green, blue, and orange, with a hand-chased bronze plinth base by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne” on front). This piece retains its original gallery label on the back which is hand-signed by Philip LaVerne. There is intricate fretwork on the drawers, the interior is impeccably finished with hand-painted malachite lacquer, and the drawers and shelves are trimmed in bronze. Drawers are lined with felt. This is the largest and most impressive of the LaVernes’ cabinets. The Tao philosophy was primarily concerned with the importance of man in relation to his surroundings and architecture. The top and sides are engraved with the Kuan— interlocking circles—design which is meant to evoke something from the past.

The Dunbar Black and White Book published by the Dunbar Furniture Corporation in 1956, there is a photograph of this model chair on the bottom of page 61 with the title “4632S Side Chair”. Index in back reads, “ Cane back… mahogany frame.”

Rare and exceptional "Hexagonal Jansen Style Table" in polished gunmetal and brass with thick glass top by Karl Springer, American 1980's. The meticulous craftsmanship and beautiful materials are the hallmarks of Karl Springer’s designs. This table can be used as a dining table with a large glass top (as shown) or a center table with a top fitted to the base. It is very versatile and was designed to be such. The metal has been completely restored and the table is in excellent condition. We will fabricate a new glass top to spec for the purchaser. It can take a larger glass top if desired.

Anzolo Fuga Important and Iconic Hand-Blown Glass Vase Ca. 1960

Rare and important hand-blown glass vase from the “Windows (Finestre) Series” incorporating multicolor rods, lattimo (white glass) and murrhines by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.) Murano Italy, circa 1960. This Fuga design was not only extremely difficult to execute, it was avante garde and still stands out as a testament to his creativity and artisanship. This work is superb.

Anzolo Fuga, Murano Glass Artist by Rosa Barovier-Mentasti, Acanthus Press 2005, this model is shown on page 162 with the caption, “Windows vase, ca 1960.” A general description of the Windows series (1960) is on page 161.
