Rare pair of "Onyx Tables" in polished gold-tinted brass with beveled bronze glass tops by Karl Springer, American 1980's. All elements of the metal base curve and thus cannot be made on a machine; they are all hand cut and welded by the foremost metal artisans. These tables could be used as side tables or coffee tables. A rare and magnificent Springer design.

Rare “Medici Coffee Table” in patinated pewter and bronze with engraved figural motifs with hand-painted enamels by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960’s (signed on top “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). This table was inspired by Michaelangelo’s “ignudi”. The base is a unique sculpture which perfectly complements the table top.

Anzolo Fuga Exceptional Hand-Blown Glass Bandiere Vase 1950s - SOLD

Large hand-blown glass "Bandiere" vase with green, yellow, blue, red and clear rods with hole in the middle by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy 1950's.  "Bandiere" means "Flag".  This series was so named by the glass blowers at A.V.E.M. because of the way the glass rods laid out before they were blown. This is among Fuga’s most iconic pieces.

Unique table with an authentic African hand-carved bench with added artisan bronze fittings and thick custom glass top by Karl Springer, American 1970's. Karl Springer was adept at taking beautiful genuine artifacts and modifying them with his own artistic touches to turn them into his own functional art. This table would function as a side table or coffee table and is super chic.

Reference:
Architectural Digest issue dated January/February 1977, Karl Springer apartment is featured on the cover and inside. On the cover there is a side table similar to this one: a hand-carved bench with artisan bronze fittings and custom glass top.

Naomi Feinberg "Amanecer" Sculpture in Red Granite 1970s

Extraordinary hand carved organic sculpture "Amanecer" in red granite on a white lacquered wood base by Naomi Feinberg, American 1970s.

Naomi Feinberg was a New York based sculptor who worked primarily in stone. She began sculpting in the 1940’s and became affiliated with artist group Studio 725 which was a consortium of woman artists working in Union Square NYC. She studied sculpture with Philip Darling, Jose De Creeft, and Lorrie Goulet at the New School, the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Students League, and the School of Visual Arts A relative late comer to the art world, Naomi Feinberg emerged as highly accomplished, multi-faceted artist who juggled architectural coherence with a preoccupation with the human form, to create works that are both experimental and primitive. She is included in the archives of American art at the Smithsonian Institute.

Provenance:  The personal collection of the artist thence her family after her death. In 2020 Lobel Modern did an exhibition on her work:  Naomi Feinberg:  A Woman Sculpting in a Man's World.

Exquisite large unicorn bust sculpture in cast resin with inlaid bronze mane, solid engraved brass alicorn, and gold leaf ears on a sculptural solid brass base by Roberto Estevez, American 1979 (signed “Estevez 79” and numbered 1/6 on base). This sculpture is a tour de force of design and artisanship. It is absolutely stunning and quite…magical.

Roberto Estevez was a superbly talented jewelry designer and sculptor. He designed jewelry for Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels as well as Tiffany. Roberto Estevez was Karl Springer’s life partner until his death in the 1980s. Estevez’s sophisticated and elegant designs in beautiful and often exotic materials fit in perfectly with Karl’s own aesthetic and many of Roberto’s sculptures were sold through Karl Springer’s showrooms. His ingenious animal sculptures are considered some of his best work.

Rare stunning bar cabinet in artisan parchment lacquer with 4 doors, each with an exquisitely engraved chrome pull, and a beautifully outfitted interior lacquered Chinese red by Tommi Parzinger, American 1950's (signed “Parzinger Originals” on inside of drawer). This was a custom order piece with exquisite details - unique architectural elements at the top, back of bar compartment is mirrored with light above and 3 thick glass shelves. This unit has special hinges so the doors fold completely out of the way for serving. It’s a chic Parzinger masterwork. The flourescent light at the top behind frosted glass has been replaced by a new LED light by Lobel Modern which is much nicer and distributes the light more evenly.
