Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Unique Coffee Table with Exquisite Chinese Motif 1960s (Signed)

One-of-a-kind coffee table with Chinese figures, animals and floral motif in hand-pierced, patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with colorful enamel cloisonne, gold leaf, French cast ribbon legs and custom fitted glass top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American early-1960s (signed “Philip LaVerne” on top). This table was delicately cut by hand by Kelvin LaVerne. The elements of this table are mesmerizing in their intricacy, vibrancy, and artisanship. Pierced bronze coffee tables were the creating of Philip and Kelvin LaVerne. Lobel Modern Archive retains the original to-scale drawing of this table done by Kelvin LaVerne and signed by Philip LaVerne. This table is a masterpiece.

Because of the unique shapes of these pieces, they cross over into sculpture. These are both in excellent condition with wonderful coloration.

Rare "Viola" coffee table, in patinated and pierced bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels and glass top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960s. Signed on top by “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”. The negative space was cut out by Kelvin’s hand. The shadows cast from this musically inspired coffee table are supposed to represent notes floating through the air. The glass top is an integral part of the design of the table. The hand-cut fretwork is truly a marvel.

LaVerne” on front). This work retains the original Seymour Gallery label on the back which is where the artists showed their finest artworks. The frame is a hand-brazed and patinated sculpture unto itself. The enamel cloisonne gives incredible depth to the colors.
