Superb "Chan” dining/game/center table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted blue, orange and red enamels with gold and copper leaf by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (Signed “Philip & Kelvin LaVerne” on top). The coloration on this table is absolutely magnificent and pristine. This is an iconic Philip and Kelvin LaVerne work of art.

The caption from the LaVerne catalog reads, “Chinese artistry at its peak under the Chan Dynasty is recreated in this intricately carved design. We see peasants carrying a sacred gift to the Emperor’s child. Delicately wrought leaves and figures, combine with a rich variety of multicolored patinas to create the Chinoiserie top. The design is credited as inspiring and evoking French and English periods of furniture design.”

Superb "Tang Boucher” Coffee Table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with green patina and ribbon legs by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on table top with original paper gallery label on bottom). The rich hues and jewel tones of this table are magnificent. The green patina was added by the LaVernes to give the table a sense of antiquity.

Large end table model 3334 in walnut with double stretcher design and Klismos legs by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb, American 1957 (Label on bottom reads “Widdicomb Grand Rapids” underneath with stamped date and model number). The double stretcher design is elegant and very streamlined. This table has been newly refinished.

Unique 2-piece "Etruscan Spiral Dining Table” in patinated bronze and pewter with engraved abstract design by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, 1960's (signed on both bases “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). This dining table is composed of 2 square tables on bronze castors with original hardware on the undersides which latches them together to form a seamless single dining table. If you unlatch them you have 2 square dining/game tables. An ingenious design by two of the most inventive artists of the 20th century. These tables are magnificent.

Pair of beautifully crafted bedside tables in lacquered goatskin, each with 2 doors and drawer, by Karl Springer, American 1985 (fabrication date stamped on back “7 19 85”). Lacquered goatskin was a material Springer used often on his artisan pieces. These have been cleaned and polished by Lobel Modern. New self-closing glides added to drawers by Lobel Modern.

Karl Springer Ming Writing Desk/Console in Embossed Crocodile 1970s - SOLD

Beautifully crafted Ming Writing Desk/Console in lacquered embossed crocodile leather with 3 drawers by Karl Springer, American 1970's. This was originally designed as a console which doubled as a writing desk but it is perfectly suited to be either. The glides on the drawers have been replaced with self-closing glides. Drawer bottoms covered in moire silk. Center drawer has a pencil holder. Springer’s lacquered leathers were typically done in a 2 tone lacquer and the colors here are white and ivory. 2 Tone lacquers give the leather incredible depth.

Karl Springer Rare Backgammon/Games Table in Lacquered Goatskin 1970s - SOLD

Rare and exceptional "Parsons Style Backgammon Table" in lacquered goatskin with brass trim, backgammon board with inset gray and ox blood leather points, with flip up storage compartments and original game pieces and cups by Karl Springer, American 1970s. On the underside of the top which covers the backgammon table is a checker/chess board. Very few of these tables were made in lacquered goatskin. It is superbly crafted and very luxurious.
